Explore the Riviera Maya
The Grand Velas hotel is conveniently located on the mystical Yucatan peninsula. As well as enjoying the perfect hotel wedding, you will have the chance to discover all of the secrets of the Riviera Maya’s ancient civilizations.
Explore the many magical cenotes on the peninsula. The clear waters of these majestic sinkholes are said to be infused with ancient powers, and if you are a scuba diver, you can delve even deeper into what is the largest underground cave system in the world.
The hotel is also in close proximity to some of the most striking ruins on the peninsula, dating back to the Mayan empire. Following the coast to the south, you will find the ancient coastal city of Tulum by the jungle. You’ll also be close enough to the ruins of Coba and Chichen Itza to take a tour to visit them, too.
The islands surrounding the peninsula are a must-see. Visit Cozumel for some of the best snorkeling in the Caribbean. To escape the crutches of reality and go back to a place seemingly forgotten in time, visit Holbox, and see flamingos, crocodiles and plenty of other wildlife. Don’t miss out on the smaller island of Isla Mujeres, for stunning views and beach walks.
